WORLD CUP FOOTBALL 2018

On 18th June, the morning assembly commenced with the news of the arrival of the good and friendly wolf, Zabivaka, the official mascot of the World Cup Football 2018 in Russia. There was a draw of lots for each class to learn more about the participating countries. Each section of Nursery and KG picked up the names of 3 participating countries, each section of Class I picked up the names of 4 participating countries and the remaining 6 countries were picked up by Class IIA students. The outcome of this project will be showcased on the Final Day of the mega sporting event in July.

WORLD MUSIC DAY

On 21st June World Music Day was celebrated where students recycled newspaper and straws to make musical instruments like accordion and mouth organ. They also recycled gift wrapping paper to make a guitar. The students of Classes I and II sang songs in English, Hindi and Bengali highlighting the fact that Music is universal!

INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY

21st June was also celebrated as International Yoga Day. The students from Nursery to Class II performed simple yoga postures during their respective physical education classes highlighting the importance of exercise and meditation.

On 5th September Teachers' Day was celebrated in the campus to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. S. Radhakrishnan who was the Second President of Independent India.

INDEPENDENCE DAY

Birla High School-Mukundapur hosted its maiden Independence Day celebration by hoisting the Tricolour in the campus.The children dressed up as freedom fighters and depicted the heroes who were an integral part of our independence like Gandhiji , Bhagat Singh , Lal Bahadur Shastri and Jawaharlal Nehru . They also carried the placards having slogans of some of the famous freedom fighters like “ Ahimsa is param Dharam .....let there be peace” by Gandhiji. , “Jai Jawaan,Jai Kisaan” by Lal Bahadur Shastri and few more.
